Why do my nails look yellow?

Yellow nails can be caused by lifestyle habits such as smoking, exposure to chemicals, excessive use of false nails or intensely coloured nail varnish without a base coat, as well as underlying health problems. If your nails are yellow and you don't know the cause, it is advisable to consult a health professional to determine the origin.

How can you tell a fungal infection from a healthy but yellowed nail?

A yellow nail is not necessarily affected by mycosis. A mycosis is caused by the growth of a fungus under the nail, which can lead to the appearance of spots, thickening of the nail and even detachment. We recommend that you consult a chiropodist or healthcare professional to assess the appearance of your nail and take a laboratory sample to identify the cause.

Can I use this serum for nail fungus?

Yellow & Damaged Nail Serum improves the appearance of nails damaged by fungus, but is not designed to treat nail fungus. In the case of mycosis, we recommend using Poderm® Nail Mycosis Serum daily, in combination with Nail Mycosis Booster Serum for maximum effectiveness. For concentrated action during the night, discover Poderm® Nail Mycosis Intensive Night Treatment, with its patented gel cap to maximise penetration of the serum.

How long does it take to get results?

Results are visible quickly in 95% of testers*. However, it is recommended that you continue to apply the product until the nails have completely regrown to reap the full benefits.

Are there any contraindications to using the Yellow and Damaged Nails serum?

The oil-serum can be used by the whole family, for toenails and fingernails, from the age of 3. Pregnant or breast-feeding women should seek the advice of their doctor.

Are Poderm products resistant to sunlight and UV rays?

PODERM® nail serums do not offer UV protection due to their 100% natural serum-oil formulation. For UV protection, combine PODERM® Color Care and/or Color Strong nail polishes (excluding top coat, base coat, gloss vitality, and gloss éclat), which enhance the nail’s appearance and protect against UV rays while allowing you to continue your treatment (they do not need to be removed).

What is the drying time for nail serums?

Poderm serums are not nail polishes, so they do not dry. They act on the nail and form a lipid film on the nail surface.
To accelerate absorption, we recommend gently massaging the serum into the nail and surrounding area for a few seconds.
