Description
The PODERM® HALLUX VALGUS & PLANTAR PAIN PROTECTION comprises the patented PODERM® cushioning and protective gel with concentrated ARNICA, as well as the breathable PODERM® AIRFORM fabric.
The PODERM® HALLUX VALGUS & PLANTAR PAIN DUAL PROTECTION forms a thick dual protection around the deformed area of the bunion, as well as over the sole of the foot to offer instant pain relief, limit friction, distribute pressure, and absorb microshocks to the foot.
In fact, the deformation of the first metatarsophalangeal joint (Hallux Valgus) creates an imbalance in the forefoot and intense pressure in the plantar zone. It is therefore recommended the sole of the foot be protected as well as the hallux valgus (bunion). The PODERM® PATENTED Gel protects the plantar pad and the joints while instantly relieving pains.
- The PODERM® AIRFORM fabric has been specifically designed to allow skin to breathe, sweat to escape and the natural ingredients in the PODERM Gel to pass through. Its polyester fibres are both supple and resistant in order to fit every type of flexible shoe.
- The internal cushion made of a patented concentrated Arnica gel, provides immediate comfort to soothe, soften, purify and repair the afflicted area. It prevents calluses and promotes their disappearance.
What is HALLUX VALGUS? Hallux valgus, also commonly known as the “bunion” is the most frequent pathology of the forefoot. It is a deformation of the metatarsophalangeal joint of the big toe. Hallux valgus can be very painful, both in the joint and on the skin.

Application
The PODERM® BUNIONS & PLANTAR PAIN DOUBLE PROTECTION is worn directly against the skin on either the right or left foot (turn the toe cap inside out). The product fits all types of flexible shoes and is available in two sizes: S or L.
The product is reusable. Wash the product by hand with warm water and allow to dry. Do not use for more than 16 hours per day. Do not apply to an open wound. Diabetics and people suffering from blood circulation problems must seek advice from a healthcare professional before use.

What causes bunions?
A bunion is a deformation of the forefoot that can be spotted by an outwards deviation from the base of the big toe: The length of the big toe gets closer to the second toe.It’s promoted by several factors such as hereditary factors, age, or wearing high heels or narrow-toe shoes.
What causes plantar pain?
When the first metatarsal and the deformed and deviated toes no longer fulfil their pressure function, a lateral load transfer becomes inevitable.This gradually leaves to metatarsalgia, most commonly referred to as forefoot pain.
Is there anything that can prevent the development of bunions?
There are some simple measures that can be taken.They mainly include:
- Wearing flat, wide and flexible shoes;
- Avoiding high heels and narrow toes in shoes.
In order to limit rubbing between the shoe and the bunion, it’s stitching on the shoes isn’t passing over the bump.
When should you use the PODERM BUNIONS & PLANTAR PAINDOUBLE PROTECTION?The symptoms are recent. To strengthen the plantar cap and reduce pain in the forefoot, the double protection will protect both the bunion and the sole of the foot from pressure and rubbing.
