Is PODERM® nail fungus treatment a varnish?

Our nail fungus treatment is not a nail polish that treats the fungus. It's a serum oil that treats the fungus and regenerates the nail.

However, it is compatible with our range of Color Care nail polish tea tree nail polishes that purify and nourish yellow, damaged nails following a fungal nail infection. By combining our two products (serum and polish), you can treat your nail fungus with the Nail Fungus Serum and then apply polish to camouflage your yellow and damaged nails with our Color Care range.

How often should we use our products against nail fungus for optimal effectiveness?

Applying once or twice a day (morning and evening) ensures maximum effectiveness, whether using our serum or our pen. If you wish to accelerate the treatment, we recommend using our Booster serum in conjunction, applied twice a week.

Can a fungal nail infection be treated quickly?

Unfortunately, no. Nail fungus requires long-term treatment, and it is perfectly normal for the effect of the treatment not to be immediate.

You will be able to observe Visible changes in 2 to 4 weeks. The nail will be less yellow and look healthier. A more noticeable improvement will be visible over the following months, simply as the healthy nail grows back.

How long does it take to treat a fungal nail infection?

This varies depending on the nail and how long the fungal infection has been present. You canallow between 3 and 6 monthsfor significant improvement, sometimes more if the fungal infection is old or if several nails are affected.

The treatment and routine should be followed until the healthy nail has grown back to its full length.

Can a fungal nail infection recur?

Yes, especially if you stop applying the serum (or pen) too soon or if the conditions for the development of the fungal infection remain favorable: humidity, perspiration or the continuous use of closed shoes.

How to avoid a relapse?

Here are our tips to avoid a relapse:

  • Dry your feet thoroughly (don't forget between your toes).
  • Change your socks every day, choosing breathable materials whenever possible.
  • Alternate your shoes if you can, avoiding shoes that compress your feet.
  • Disinfect your shoes regularly
  • Protect your feet as much as possible in communal areas: swimming pool, changing rooms, showers.
  • Use our nail fungus products as a preventative measure.
